CSA Week 3

This week more greens...

1) rainbow chard
2) swiss chard
3) cabbage (a new option)
4) the largest head of green leaf lettuce I have ever seen

I made this recipe last week with the chard. It was really tasty. Almost anything is good with bacon added, even chocolate.

As for the cabbage, the easy answer seems to be coleslaw, which I happen to love. Then the question is what kind of coleslaw, since there are endless variations...creamy, vinegary, finely chopped or coursely shredded...

Lettuce of course equals salad. I had some for lunch today.

There were also beets available. I don't know if I like beets. I'll probably try them next week if they are available again. Should I be so adventurous, I've been scoping out the beet recipes at Coconut & Lime.

Darn! I was hoping you'd post this earlier. We were out of town and hoping you'd clue us in to our choices so we could tell our friend what to pick up for us. :-)

Sorry, I was a bit late with this post as I picked up my share on Friday and promptly went out of town myself. :) What did you end up getting?

I was just joking. Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

We got green leaf lettuce, cabbage, and I think rainbow chard. and I'm not sure what the other item is, but another green.

So you didn't brave the beets, either. :) I was disappointed that there were no strawberries. They had been so good!

We didn't choose we had a friend pick it up for use since we were late getting back from vacation and wouldn't have made it too Mill Valley in time.
